So, what is happening in 2018?

The Sunrise Rotary Club has been successful in getting August dates for the 3rd Annual Interior Savings Sunrise Rotary RibFest in Kelowna (August 24 – 26, 2018). This should provide the greatest free summer festival in Kelowna in 2018 with warm, dry weather and the opportunity for more visitors and local citizens, meaning more proceeds for those in need in our community.

The Rotary Club of Kelowna Sunrise is very pleased that Interior Savings Credit Union has come on board for the third year as the RibFest’s Title Sponsor. With the support of many of our sponsors, the Rotary Sunrise Club recognizes that the RibFest is truly a community sponsored and supported event.

The popular Interior Savings Sunrise Rotary RibFest, with its increasing attendance, will continue to offer top-notch music and other stage entertainment, family activities featuring a Kids Zone, a beverage garden, market vendors and great barbeque ribs and chicken from our out-of-town Ribbers, along with a variety of food and beverages from local food vendors throughout all three days of the RibFest. And yes, entrance will continue to be free for everyone. The 3rd Annual event will have more to offer than ever before.

What are People Saying About the RibFest?

"Not sure what to do on a beautiful fall day in Kelowna? Gather together with your friends and family and head to RibFest for the food and music and a cold brew. I guarantee you will be making this an annual event. Mouthwatering ribs, chicken, smoked and barbecued to perfection, while sitting out on a fall day, listening to great music and meeting new people. This festival is so well organized it couldn’t get better. Thanks to the Rotary Club once again. I go every year, wouldn’t miss it!"

-Rebecca

"I've attended plenty of food festivals before but the RibFest last year out did them all. I went every day- once on a date night, once with friends and once with family. Awesomlicious!! Can't wait."

-Craig

"The evening we attended RibFest we were fortunate to be sitting in the enclosed area where "runners" would fetch our food if we so wanted. We actually helped ourselves just so we could peruse the different ribbers.  Not only was the food great, the lineup of bands playing music was fantastic. Each band would play for one hour then a quick shift change and a new band was up. The music was nonstop and good!!  To the best of my knowledge all local bands.  It amazed me on how many bands are in the area.  It was a delightful evening. Well worth the time!"

Our Beginnings...

The Interior Savings Sunrise Rotary RibFest was introduced to Kelowna, British Columbia, in September of 2016 and then repeated in September of 2017, both as three day events hosted and organized by the Rotary Club of Kelowna Sunrise, with the Interior Savings Credit Union as the Title Sponsor for each event.  Visitors to the Central Okanagan and local residents enjoyed three days of free music entertainment, family activities and mouth-watering food, including featured barbeque ribs, leaving thousands of patrons with full stomachs, and an exciting and fun-filled weekend in each case.

The Rotary Club of Kelowna Sunrise and Interior Savings Credit Union are especially pleased that 100 percent of the proceeds from the events were distributed to local non-profit organizations such as Shoe Bank Canada, organizations that were focused on making a difference for those in need.
