What is Ribfest?
Ribfests are becoming a featured and very popular event throughout the summer and early fall right across North America. Many of these are being sponsored nationwide by Rotary clubs which are then using the net profits to support humanitarian and other community projects.
The Interior Savings Sunrise Rotary Ribfest will be a FREE, family friendly, three day event featuring four Ribbers, and a number of non-rib food vendors to ensure that everyone has a choice. There will be lots to do and eat—after all, Kelowna is a foodie town. Try our beverage garden, visit our family friendly area with a Kids Play Zone, and enjoy entertainment for everyone. Did we mention that there is free admission to the event's activities and entertainment?

Where is the Interior Savings Sunrise Rotary Ribfest?
The RibFest is being held at Kelowna City Park at the west end of Bernard Avenue in Downtown Kelowna (near the Sails Statue) at the east end of the Bennett Bridge.
Are kids welcome?
Absolutely! This is a family-oriented event. Our free Save-on-Foods Kids’ PlayZone is a great place for you and your kids to have fun during the day. We have bouncy castles and more. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Please note that the Kids’ Play Zone will run on Saturday and Sunday from opening to 7:00 PM.
What is the cost of admission?
Admission is free as it is the intention of the Interior Savings Credit Union and the Rotary Club of Kelowna Sunrise to provide entertainment for all residents and visitors at no cost. Of course, the Rotary Club of Kelowna Sunrise will gratefully accept donations to maximize the impact that the club can make in financially supporting local causes and initiatives.
Where does my money go?
Rotary is well-known for its contributions to local initiatives. Rotary continues the philosophy of 100% Charity fundraiser –100% volunteers.
The Rotary Club of Kelowna Sunrise focuses on supporting, developing and implementing literacy, educational, humanitarian, recreation, wellness and environmental programs, projects and activities that assist the community in meeting the needs of its citizens and improving the quality of life for children, youth and adults within the community.

Can local businesses, organizations or individuals sponsor some of the activities of the Ribfest?
Sponsorships are a key part in making the Kelowna Ribfest a success. The Interior Savings Credit Union as the title sponsor, along with a wide variety of sponsorships from business and individuals, enable the Rotary Club of Kelowna Sunrise to increase the net profit from the fundraiser to make an even greater impact in addressing the needs of our community. From media sponsors to family day and mainstage sponsors, ranging in contribution size from ¾ rack, ½ rack, ¼ rack and Friends of Ribfest, we gratefully acknowledge their support through print, web, stage and signage. We would welcome other interested businesses, organizations and individuals as sponsors.
Can I make a donation to the Ribfest while I am at the site?
You certainly can! Any amount that you can donate will be gratefully accepted as this will enable the Rotary Club of Kelowna Sunrise to offset some of the costs and thereby enable the club to financially support those in need and more community projects and events. Donation boxes will be situated throughout the site to receive your generous support.
Can I bring my dog or other pet?
Unfortunately, for health and safety reasons, pets are not permitted inside the Ribfest area. Of course, duty service dogs are welcome. For those who bring their dogs, pet care will be provided on site.
What if I want to take the bus and what is the schedule for local buses?
Visit the BC Transit Website at http://bctransit.com/kelowna/schedules-and-maps for detailed information on bus transportation and scheduling.
Is parking available?
Visit http://en.parkopedia.ca/parking/kelowna for details. Parking in City Owned Parkades and City Lots are free after 6 PM and all day Sunday. There is no charge for on-street parking after 5 PM and on Sundays. There will be a charge at the private lots at all times.
Where is handicap parking or drop-off?
Ribfest is on a paved parking lot, so it is wheelchair friendly. Please come to the entrance to City Park at the bottom of Leon Street and indicate that you are seeking the location for handicapped parking.
Do the Ribbers and beverage gardens and tents accept Credit or Debit Cards?
All sales are cash-only. One or more ATMs will be on site if you need extra cash.
What other kinds of foods are available?
The Ribbers provide choices other than the traditional pork ribs by offering beef ribs, chicken, grilled shrimp, salads, coleslaw, and baked beans. Other food vendors will round out the menu.
Are vegetarian choices available?
A number of food truck vendors will be on site to provide you with a vegetarian choice.
What is the price of the ribs?
All food vendors set their own prices. Ribbers take cash only, no credit or debit cards.
Can I bring my own food or drinks?
Outside food or drinks are NOT permitted inside the gates of Ribfest. Non-alcoholic options are available on-site for purchase. A water station will also be located on-site.
I hear there’s great live entertainment. What bands are playing, and when?

Is there anything else to do while I’m at Ribfest?
Definitely! There will be many entertainers performing throughout the Ribfest. There will be a number of family focused activities and entertainers for kids of all ages. Many community groups will have booths for you to wander through.
Is there accommodation nearby?
Certainly. There are many hotels and motels within a short distance and many more a short car ride away. That said, accommodation will be more difficult to secure the closer to the date of the Ribfest. Your best bet is to check with the Tourism office in Kelowna at www.tourismkelowna.com or check out your favorite booking website.
