Rachel Layne’s folk-pop writing and performance style combines timeless romanticism with the relevancy of today’s youthful generation. She’s a 2016 Spotlight Performance provincial finalist, 2015 Unsigned Only Music semi-finalist and one of eight artists selected by Music Publisher Ole to perform at their inaugural “on the spot” contest during CCMA Week.
She has performed at emerging artist showcases during CCMA Week for the past six years, been featured at the Opening Ceremonies of the International Children’s Winter Games, has performed at the Merritt Country Music Walk of Stars, the Calgary Stampede and during a BC Lions Half Time Show for a Salute to Veterans. She also sings anthems for her local and provincial sports teams.
Rachel is an avid supporter for environmental sustainability, with one of her original songs about the beauty of nature selected as a winner at the Get to Know International Youth Environmental Conference. “I think this is a girl to keep your eye on. Her songwriting style has such a beautiful vibe, very raw and honest.” – Diva Shane, Music Bank Music Review
